Bayside Young Persons AA Meeting
12 × 12 STUDY GROUP

Thursday Nights 6:30 – 7:40 PM

Wellington Point Recreation Hall

347–371 Birkdale Road, Wellington Point

Not the Redlands Sports Club — keep going a little way down the road, straight off Birkdale Road. Look for the place all lit up… with plenty of parking!

All are welcome.

Our young persons meeting is aimed at helping alcoholics who are under 40 years of age. But as we say, we are young at heart, so we are inclusive of people of any age. If you need a meeting, our door will always be open.

What is a 12 × 12 Study?

The Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions explains the 24 basic principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. Known as the "Twelve and Twelve," the book dedicates a chapter to each Step and each Tradition. Chapters provide an interpretation of these principles for personal recovery and the organization of the group.

Together we read a chapter, then share our experience, strength and hope around it — in a supportive, fun and welcoming space.

What to Expect

Our meetings run for approximately 70 minutes and provide a safe, welcoming space for anyone seeking recovery from alcoholism.

Each meeting begins with a brief welcome and introduction, followed by a reading from AA literature. Members are invited to read a short section if they wish, but there is never any pressure to participate.

After the reading, members are invited to share their experience, strength, and hope, or their thoughts on the topic discussed. Sharing is entirely voluntary, and everyone is welcome to simply listen. To ensure everyone feels respected, there is no cross-talk, interruption, or advice-giving during shares.

Towards the end of the meeting, there are any AA-related announcements, an opportunity to learn about sponsorship, and the Seventh Tradition collection to help cover meeting expenses. Newcomers are under no obligation to contribute.

Whether it's your first meeting or you've been attending AA for years, you'll be welcomed in a respectful, supportive, and confidential environment.
